avast antivirus protection
Avast is a household name in the field of cybersecurity. It has a reputation for outstanding security measures and malware detection, and it offers an array of other security options, including a boot-time scan and virtual desktop. The software also works on several devices and comes with a free VPN service.
It is available in three different plans – Protection Performance, and Privacy based on the number of devices you require to cover. In addition to PCs, it can be installed on Mac and Android devices.
During our tests, Avast detected every single bit of malware on all the systems we tested it on. This is a feat of excellence given that the software is able to detect more than 1.5 billion threats every month.
The software’s speedy boot-time scanning is a different feature. It will scan your system for potentially harmful files before Windows loads. It took me less than an hour during my tests to run the complete scan on a PC that was running Windows 10.
The Avast product also comes with many other security tools designed to protect your data. Its Sensitive Document Shield is able to detect sensitive documents like invoices, resumes, and tickets. It couldn’t find any sensitive files on the PC I tested it on. However, it did detect sensitive documents.
Avast’s email protector can examine your account for suspicious attachments or phishing links. It also has a feature known as Bank Mode that provides a virtual desktop, which is safe from keystroke loggers, screenshot attempts as well as other malicious applications. Avast’s privacy policies are excellent. The company claims that it only collects data that is necessary for protection, and its analytics business Jumpshot only sells the data to large corporations after it has been “de-identified.”
